Flat Cap Hotels has put two of its Cheshire hotels, The Vicarage and The Bridge Hotel, up for sale after it fell into administration on 18 January 2024.
The company cited the pandemic, inflation and challenging economic environment as the main reasons.
The Vicarage in Cranage is a 23 bedroom property, which sits on the banks of the River Dane, overlooking the Cheshire countryside. Featuring architecture dating back to the 1700’s, the hotel blends old with new, with a restaurant, modern industrial bar and surround sound sports bar.
Meanwhile, The Bridge is a 27 bedroom hotel and restaurant located on the banks of the River Bollin in the Cheshire village of Prestbury.
The “contemporary” restaurant and bar features a vaulted ceiling, while the Riverside gardens feature an outdoor bar called ‘The Shed’ which can be used as a wedding venue.
On behalf of joint administrators Gareth Prince, Mark Malone and Julian Pitts of Begbies Traynor, specialist business property adviser, Christie and Co has been appointed to market two recently refurbished hotels.
Tom O’Malley, associate director – hotel broker at Christie and Co, said: “We’re delighted to have been appointed to market these two exceptional Cheshire hospitality businesses on behalf of the administrators. The properties are available as a package or individually and we anticipate wide-ranging interest from investors and operators both national and independent.”
