Motel One Group has been named the first-ever winner of the Best for Learning and Development award at this year’s WM People Top Employer Awards.
The 14th annual WM People Top Employer Awards celebrated the industry’s best companies for diversity and inclusion, flexible working, career progression for women, mental health and family support.
Recognised for its commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and environment for all individuals to thrive and develop, Motel One Group – which includes both the Motel One and The Cloud One Hotels brands – convinced judges with its accessibility and the range of learning and development support available to employees.
Offering online training and development days via the group’s training academy, the hotel company provides coaching and degree programmes that are well structured within an industry which typically lacks career pathway support. The programmes allow employees to continue learning and upskilling throughout their careers.
The award follows Motel One Group’s announcement of plans to open two new hotels in London later this year, forming part of the group’s wider European expansion, with eight properties launching across the continent in 2024.
Motel One now boasts a portfolio of 11 properties in the UK and Ireland across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, London and Dublin.
Daniel Müller, co-CEO at Motel One Group, said: “Motel One Group is honoured to be the first recipient of the new Best for Learning and Development award at the WM People Top Employer Awards.
“This recognition highlights our dedication to creating and maintaining an environment that allows every employee to develop in an industry which can be challenging when it comes to career support. We look forward to continuing to nurture and develop our talented employees across our brands.”
