A historic Grade II listed property, the White Hart Hotel in Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, has been acquired by new Sanjay Dhrona off a guide price of £1.85m.

The 16th Century former coaching inn boasts 24 en-suite bedrooms, a charming restaurant with approximately 50 covers, a courtyard and a real ale bar.

Its location, just 10 miles from Oxford and in close proximity to major tourist attractions, including Dorchester Abbey and Bicester Village.

Dhrona and his family bring a wealth of experience in both healthcare and hospitality sectors.

He said: “The White Hart Hotel has a historic charm and for us the location is close to some of our other business assets which aligns perfectly with our vision for providing exceptional hospitality experiences. We look forward to welcoming guests and continuing the legacy of this beloved establishment while introducing innovative offerings to cater to the evolving needs of our guests.”

Peter Brunt, director in Colliers’ Hotels team, who handled the sale, added: “We are pleased to have assisted Sanjay and his family in acquiring the White Hart Hotel. This transaction underscores the enduring appeal of heritage properties and the continued confidence in the hospitality sector. The start of 2024 has seen us conclude a number of transactions and with strong demand still being shown we would welcome enquiries from hotel and country inn owners considering a sale this year.”
