North Wales’ The Quay Hotel and Spa, located in Deganwy Marina in Conwy, has revealed a first look at its new 580 sq m destination spa, inspired by the waterside location of the Conwy Estuary.

Following a £1m renovation, the new spa at The Quay Hotel and Spa has opened its doors to welcome both locals and visitors.

Working with Dale Sauna and Pro Build, the spa comprises a wellness thermal area, centred around a large swimming pool and adjoining vitality pool, which is surrounded by day beds and heated seats for guests to lounge on. The lighting in the pool area is low and blue toned.

The wellness suite is made up of a Himalayan salt sauna, infrared sauna – where the heat will detoxify, penetrate into muscles and enhance wellbeing – and an aromatic steam room promoting respiratory health, as well as a traditional sauna where the dry heat “melts away” tension.

Wet facilities include a large experience shower, and foot bath area where guests can gently soothe feet after roaming the national parks and nearby towns of Llandudno and Conwy.

Accompanying the spa upstairs is the new spa café, which serves healthy dishes, traditional Welsh afternoon teas and beverages from a private environment.

There are also eight new treatment rooms, where guests can experience face and body treatments from Oskia, which manufactures its products in the hills of Wales.

Guests are also encouraged to unwind pre and post treatment in the relaxation room, located right next door to the café, which offers a “tranquil environment” with rose hued twinkling lights and comfortable seating.

With the new spa, the hotel has been able to recruit a further two leisure staff members as well as taking on two spa apprentices, a side of the business the team are keen to work on to give young, local people the opportunity to grow their career in hospitality and spa.

Announcing the launch of the new spa, The Quay Hotel and Spa’s general manager, Brid Adams, said: “The Quay Hotel and Spa, has long been a cherished destination to all visiting North Wales. Its breathtaking views of Conwy Castle and the serene estuary never fail to captivate visitors.

“Now, with the addition of the new spa at The Quay, the resort offers a complete experience for our guests—a place to unwind, relax, take a break from the world and enjoy a luxury spa experience. And what better way to complete the day than by watching a glistening sunset with a spectacular view of Conwy Castle.”
