The Leinster in Dublin opens Jean-Georges rooftop restaurant

Dishes include a tuna tartare, shaved broccoli and kale salad, and a casarecce pasta, alongside other options, including warm chocolate cake

The Leinster hotel in Dublin has announced the launch of Jean-Georges rooftop restaurant curated by acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Following in the footsteps of his restaurants in London, New York, Paris and Kyoto, Jean-Georges at The Leinster marks Vongerichten’s first foray into Ireland.

With seating for up to 140 guests and set against a backdrop of Georgian Dublin, Vongerichten brings his signature cuisine to Ireland and serves breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner.

Jean-Georges’ “innovative” concept intertwines Irish classics with fresh French and Southeast Asian flavours, using locally sourced ingredients.

Guests can select dishes such as Egg toast with caviar and herbs and Tuna Tartare with avocado, spicy radish, and ginger marinade. Main courses feature culinary gems such as whole roasted cauliflower with turmeric tahini, zaatar, pomegranate, date molasses, red zhug, and pistachio, or parmesan-crusted organic chicken with artichokes, lemon butter, and basil.

The menu also features a range of desserts including warm chocolate cake paired with Tahitian vanilla ice-cream.

Additionally, guests can complement their meals with an extensive selection of wines and cocktails.

Jean-Georges at The Leinster also features a wraparound outdoor terrace with a hand-painted mural across the ceilings and walls by Joanne Murphy.

Moreover, new for autumn 2024, Jean-Georges at The Leinster will be offering an express-style lunch menu. The lunch menu retains Jean-Georges’ signature seasonality, with a menu that changes each month.

The Leinster boasts 55 bedrooms and suites, The Collins Club bar and supper club, a luxurious boutique fitness experience crafted by the experts behind Power, and The O’Dwyer Suite event space.

Chef Vongerichten said: “Dublin is a city that, for many years, I’ve wanted to discover and explore. It has such a rich history and expansive cuisine, culture, and amazing ingredients that I’m so happy to celebrate.

“At The Leinster, we bring a taste of Asia, France and New York to the rooftop whilst working with local Irish producers to create a unique dining experience for all guests. We offer familiar yet different dishes to Dublin locals and tourists alike and we love welcoming you all to Jean-Georges at The Leinster.”

Melanie Nocher, general manager of The Leinster, added: “We were so thrilled to welcome the renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to The Leinster. This partnership is a natural fit and Jean-Georges has already brought a fresh and interesting approach, seamlessly merging his exceptional knowledge of F&B with our local purveyors, suppliers, and the vibrant community of Dublin.”
