Clermont Hotel Group has revealed it has been recognised as one of the UK’s best places to work on the 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces in Retail, Hospitality and Leisure list launched by Great Place To Work UK.

The largest hotel owner-operator in London also came 42nd in the overall Best Workplaces List after its team, responding anonymously to a Trust Index survey, scored the group in many areas.

Team members were asked to comment on how their company supports work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security.

Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.

The survey revealed that 76% of Clermont Hotel Group’s 1,610 employees regard the company as a great place to work. This is in comparison with 54% of employees at a typical UK based company.

According to the results, 90% of employees stated Clermont Hotel Group was a physically safe place to work, while 88% said they felt welcomed when they joined.

The majority of team members rated Clermont Hotel Group for its fairness with 90% saying people are treated fairly regardless of their sexual orientation, while 88% said they were treated fairly regardless of their sex and 86% regardless of their race.

Heather Harris, Group HR director for Clermont Hotel Group, said: “We can’t deliver extraordinary hospitality without extraordinary people so it’s important that we nurture the incredible talent within our business and provide them with the support they need to thrive. Our team is our most important asset, so we work hard to ensure every individual feels seen, heard and appreciated for being who they are.
