Boutique hotel group Dakota Hotels has announced its expansion into Newcastle with the opening of a new hotel in April.
Situated on St. Ann’s Wharf, overlooking the riverside promenade, the new hotel will house 118 bedrooms, including a range of suites.
Newcastle’s top suite – The Grand Deluxe – will be the largest and “most luxurious” in the city, offering butler service, a fireplace, steam shower and roll-top bath, lounge and dressing areas, and views across the Tyne.
The hotel restaurant, the Grill will propose “classic” dishes crafted with quality seasonal produce, while the bar will provide mood lighting, plush seating, and a carefully curated menu of cocktails.
The Newcastle hotel will also feature a Champagne Room – a designed space for intimate drinks as well as a waterfront terrace, dedicated events space, and a “cigar terrace” and humidor, offering an extensive selection of cigars in an al-fresco setting.
Dakota Newcastle is anticipated to generate upwards of 120 jobs for the community and support Newcastle’s regeneration project. Newcastle will be the sixth hotel in the Dakota group, and the third in England.
Andrew Ovenstone, managing director of Dakota Hotels, said: “Newcastle promises to be an exciting addition to our portfolio, and we look forward to bringing our unique brand of hospitality to this great city.
“These are exciting times for Dakota, and we have ambitious plans to bring luxury lifestyle experiences to destinations that matter most.”
