Lisa Williams has been voted as national chair of the UK Housekeepers Association (UKHA), having been voted in by regional chairs at a recent national committee meeting.
Williams took up her seat on 1 April 2025 following Kerry Adams’s decision to step down, and is now leading the association into an “exciting new era”.
She has been the regional chair for UKHA Yorkshire and North East and currently serves as executive head housekeeper at The Grand, York.
With over 20 years of five-star hospitality experience, she has held senior positions at some of London’s most prestigious hotels, including The St Pancras Renaissance, W Hotel Leicester Square, and Jumeirah Residences Park Lane.
Williams has also earned multiple industry awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Hotel Housekeeping Honours, Housekeeper of the Year at The Hotel Cateys 2023, and the AA Housekeeper of the Year.
She is also committed to “empowering” housekeeping professionals through training and mentorship, “ensuring a strong talent pipeline for the future”.
Williams said: “Training, education and flexibility are the fundamental building blocks of a successful career in housekeeping. We now have flexible contracts for our team at The Grand York, allowing for greater work-life balance, more family time, and ultimately a happier, more focused workforce.
“An exceptional foundation in the industry can accelerate career growth and support the profession in many ways. I am grateful that my role at The Grand, York, allows me to empower my colleagues, industry-wide, and to futureproof the talent pipeline for housekeeping.”
