The Hydro Hotel in Bowness on Windermere, Cumbria, has been brought on the property market off a guide price of £2.5m.
The former manor house features 78 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant and well-furnished grand public areas. The property also has conference and meeting rooms, suitable for weddings and business seminars and leisure facilities including a heated indoor swimming pool and substantial staff accommodation.
Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency at Colliers International, said: “We are delighted to bring the Hydro Hotel to the market. It is an established and well-known hotel operating with a healthy trading base.
“Our instructions were that it should be “priced to sell” and consequently we are anticipating a favourable response to the marketing, particularly bearing in mind it is so rare to see a substantial Lakeland hotel with panoramic views coming to the open market.”
He added: “The hotel was acquired by the current owners in 2015 and has been the subject of a circa £1,700,000 refurbishment to most of the public areas and a substantial number of the “lake view” bedrooms.”
