Crathorne Hall Hotel in North Yorkshire has been awarded two AA Rosettes for its Leven Restaurant, in recognition of its modern British fine dining.

The award was announced by Hand Picked Hotels, which owns the property as part of its UK portfolio of country house hotels and coastal resorts.

The Leven Restaurant, located in the former private dining room of the early 20th Century manor, serves seasonal British dishes with local ingredients including wood pigeon from the Yorkshire Dales, pork from Bishop Auckland, Yorkshire ham, and Harrogate cheeses. Menus are updated regularly to reflect seasonal availability.

Judges highlighted the team’s focus on provenance, a “carefully composed menu”, and high standards of service. The wine list – including bottles from the owners’ Tuscan vineyard, Villa Saletta, and from the personal collection of Julia and Guy Hands – also received commendation.

Vidyadhar Patole, general manager at Crathorne Hall, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive this prestigious recognition from the AA. Earning two Rosettes is a true testament to the dedication, creativity, and passion of our culinary and front-of-house teams.

“At The Leven Restaurant, we strive to create an experience that celebrates the very best of Yorkshire’s rich culinary heritage, and we’re delighted that this commitment to excellence has been acknowledged at a national level.”

Julia Hands, chairman of Hand Picked Hotels, added: “This is fantastic recognition of the team’s achievement and the exceptional menu at The Leven Restaurant. As a hotel group, we are particularly passionate about our gastronomic experiences. This prestigious award from the AA reflects the team’s talent, passion, and commitment to excellence.”

Hand Picked Hotels currently has 18 properties with AA Rosette status, ranging from one to four rosettes.
