Pellicano Hotels Group has announced the appointment of Edward Leenders as the new general manager of the Hotel Il Pellicano in Porto Ercole, Italy. 

Leenders, who is originally from the Netherlands, has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 25 years. He previously served as managing director at the Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria in Brussels and Hotel De L’Europe in Amsterdam

Some 10 years of his career were spent with Rocco Forte Hotels. Leenders also held senior positions at Hotel Savoy in Florence, Hotel Amigo in Brussels, and Brown’s Hotel in London. 

Leenders graduated from Hotel School The Hague and Cornell University. His career includes experience in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and the Indian Ocean.

Marie-Louise Sciò, chief executive and creative director of Pellicano Hotels, said: “His international experience, creative vision, and dedication to genuine hospitality align perfectly with the spirit of Hotel Il Pellicano.”

Leenders added: “It is an honour to join Hotel Il Pellicano, a property that embodies such a rich history and unmistakable sense of place. I look forward to working closely with the team.”
