Magnolia Park Trading has announced that its Magnolia Park Hotel and Golf Club in Buckinghamshire will fully close on the 31 July 2020.
The company said the leisure and hospitality industry has been at the “forefront” of taking the necessary actions to help stop the spread of coronavirus, and the Magnolia Hotel and Golf Club were closed, in accordance with government advice, from 23 March 2020.
Despite this, the golf course reopened on 15 May, but will remain open for socially distanced golf only until 31 July – after which it will permanently close until further notice.
Taking account of ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, and the long-term repercussions for the hotel business, the owner did confirm plans for the redevelopment of the hotel and its grounds sometime in the future.
A statement by the group read: “The decision to close the hotel, which changed ownership in July 2019, comes after careful consideration and consultation, including a detailed review of the long-term strategic options for the property.”
The owner added that it remains “committed to the community economy” and “looks forward to reopening the hotel and facilities”.
