In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Tribute Portfolio, Marriott International’s newest collection of independent hotels, has welcomed Abbey Hotel Bath to its roster following a complete refurbishment.

The boutique hotel, which occupies three Georgian townhouses on North Parade, a wide promenade in Bath’s old quarters, features 65 individually styled guestrooms.

Designed by Street Design Partnership, the interiors are inspired by Bath’s artistic heritage. Marriott said the bold print patterns, textured wallpapers and statement colours used throughout the hotel are a nod to the different branches of art and design celebrated in Bath such as fine art, print, architecture and photography.

The property also features an ArtBar that sits at the heart of the hotel and The Abbey Hotel Kitchen which serves a mix of “English classics, healthy choices and indulgent dishes”.

Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s private terrace located at the front of the hotel overlooking Bath Abbey and Parade Gardens.

Describing its new independent collection Marriott said: “Tribute Portfolio is a growing global family of characterful, independent hotels drawn together by their passion for captivating design and their drive to create vibrant social scenes for guests and locals alike.

“With more than 35 hotels open and growing, Tribute Portfolio has struck a chord with those who seek out independent experiences and crave a connection with the community when traveling.”
