TUI announces new CFO
Holiday operator TUI has announced Sebastian Ebel as its new chief financial officer.
Ebel, who takes up the post on 1 January 2021, is an experienced TUI manager, according to a statement.
Dr Dieter Zetsche, chairman of the supervisory board of TUI, agreed to the change on Tuesday along with other board member shifts.
His predecessor, current CFO Birgit Conix, decided to not extend her contract and will leave at the end of the year.
Ebel is currently responsible for holiday experiences with hotels, cruises and activities in the destinations flown to by TUI.
Zetsche said: “In Sebastian Ebel, we have been able to find a successor who can fill the new role from day one in the best possible way. This is of enormous importance, especially in the still-challenging environment.”
Fritz Joussen, CEO of TUI said: “Sebastian Ebel is a very experienced financial manager who has also successfully managed large operating companies. We have mastered many common challenges together.
“After the pandemic many things will have changed. With the new composition of the TUI management team, we are already in the best possible position to get off to a good start after the pandemic.”
