Tara Properties has announced a proposal to turn a former fire station in Newcastle into a boutique hotel.
Documentation reveals plans to turn the Grade II listed former fire station into a hotel of approximately 5,500sqm with 60 bedrooms, and 517sqm of restaurant and bar uses located at ground floor level.
The scheme forms part of the wider portfolio of projects by Taras Properties including Bank House an office scheme which will redevelop the former Bank of England gateway site at the junction of Pilgrim Street and the Swan House roundabout which is now under construction.
The property group is to submit a planning application for the project to Newcastle City Council in November, if granted permission the company has appointed estate advisors, Avison Young to consult them on the build.
Taras Properties has also called on members of the public to provide feedback on the build allowing those interested to view blueprints of the property on its website.
