Hotel prices have decreased dramatically across Europe this month but UK hotels have remained largely unaffected, according to the November Trivago Hotel Price Index.
Based on the 50 most popular European cities on Trivago, hotel prices have dropped by an average of 13% compared with last month. One night in November will cost an average of £86, compared to £99 in October.
The largest hotel price decreases were in Italy. Compared with October, hotel prices in Venice have decreased by 44% to an average of £109 per night. The second and third largest price drops can be found in Florence (down 32% to £89) and Rome (also down 32% to £86), respectively.
Despite downward European movements, UK prices have remained relatively unchanged compared with October, but have increased in comparison to November 2013. The largest increase can be found in Norwich, where prices have increased by 20% to an average of £110 per night.
