Moxy Hotels has opened a new 194-room hotel in the centre of Chester, in a move that will create nine new jobs.
The boutique hotel will open its doors to business travellers and key workers during the winter months, despite the ongoing pandemic.
The hotel’s lobby includes a “state-of-the art” video wall and 24/7 food service, while bedrooms are equipped with large flat screen televisions, built in USB ports and free Wi-Fi. The site also features 24 car parking spaces.
The business’ new general manager, Trevor Roberts, has previous hospitality experience working in pub chains.
Roberts said: “I love a challenge and there’s no better challenge than to open a sizable new hotel during these unprecedented times.
“We have worked hard to ensure all our Covid-19 safety procedures are in place for guests and staff and we are already gaining traction with bookings and are making plans for Christmas.”
Donovan Sumner, regional director of operations for Hotel Co 51, Moxy Chester’s operating company, said: “This is Moxy’s 10th UK opening and it’s great to bring our innovative and unique style to this fabulous Roman city.
“Trevor’s experience means he is well placed to head up this operation and we’re proud to be creating jobs at this unbelievable time for the hospitality industry. We love Chester so much that plans are already afoot for a second hotel under the guise of a Courtyard By Marriott which we plan to open in the near future.”
