French hotelier Jean-Louis Costes, is to launch a 40-bedroom boutique hotel in London’s Sloane Square, under a management agreement with London property company Cadogan Estate.

Currently used as residential apartments, the hotel, located at One Sloane Gardens, will be developed through 2015 and is expected to open in 2016.

Costes is well known for owning Hôtel Costes, a trendy hotel in Paris known for it’s glamorous interiors and its A-list guests.

Hugh Seaborn, CEO of Cadogan, said: “It was crucial for us not only to find the best possible partner in terms of experience and skill, but someone who shares our passion for creating a destination that is truly exceptional and inspiring.

“We are delighted to be working with the great visionary behind the iconic Hotel Costes — he has a unique way of creating beautiful environments for the world’s most discerning travellers”.

A spokesperson for Cadogan said that the hotel will likely be “quite different” from Hotel Costes and that Costes prides himself on ensuring each of his projects is entirely different and in-keeping with the local area.
