NewBook PMS has played an April Fools prank on its customers, informing them of an urgent update to their highly responsive, modern PMS.
Customers were told this updated included features such as customer “Chit Chat” suggestions appearing whilst they wait for their system to load, Support for the latest dot-matrix printers and monthly reports send directly via post.
Newbook said the April fools prank went down a “treat” and that it got some fantastic responses via phone and email as a result.
Below is the email which caused a “stir” with its customers:

Dear NewBook Customer,
NewBook is proud to announce, that we are finally listening to a select number of prospective customers’ feedback and introducing an updated interface style. This interface has been used for over 30 years worldwide so must be good. Our update will be going live at 1pm today, 1st of April 2015, so please read the update email carefully. Some of the amazing new features include:
- Customer “Chit Chat” suggestions appear whilst you wait for the system to load.
- New guest bookings sent overnight via fax
- Support for latest series of dot-matrix printers.
- PCI Compliant Backup to Secure Floppy Disk A:
- Remote access via Dialup to USA (International Call Charges Apply)
- For the time conscious business owner, monthly reports sent directly via post.
- For all other features you will still need to use our previous version.
