The Brownsover Hall Hotel in Rugby, Warwickshire, has been sold to a Far Eastern-based investment company for £3.25m.
The historic gothic mansion set in seven acres of garden and woodland has been acquired by Singapore-based hospitality investment company Brownsover UK.
The 47-bedroom hotel is made up of the main mansion and several smaller buildings, including the Stables, the Coach House and the Coachman’s Cottage. All three of which were designed by architect Sir George Gilbert Scott in around 1855.
Julian Troup, head of hotels agency at Colliers International, which handled the sale, said: “With its sweeping staircase and feature fireplaces, Brownsover Hall Hotel is magnificent. The mansion and surrounding converted accommodation display all the features expected of a traditional gothic period property.
“With its unique and historical features the hotel continues to attract a wide-ranging clientele. This latest sale is another example of how we are continuing to see oversees interest in the UK hotels market, particularly from investors in south and south east Asia.”
