The Cranleigh Boutique’s new Church Suites, which officially opened in January, have been named as the ‘best hotel suites in the UK’.

The Windermere-based hotel picked up the award at the International & Property Awards 2015 – in association with design magazine ‘design et al’ – which was held at the Hotel Slendido in Portofino, Italy, on June 26.

Competing against properties from across the world in countries such as Hong Kong, Bali and Oman, the hotel’s suites also took the runner-up position as the ‘best hotel suite in the world’ award.

Stephen Hargreaves, owner of the hotel, said:“We are beyond stunned to have been named best hotel suite in the UK and second in the world, in such a prestigious international environment.

“Both the Cranleigh Boutique and the Hideout House have won numerous awards over the past couple of years, but with the Church Suites, we have really taken the accommodation experience to the next level.”

He added that being named as the best UK hotel suite and second in the world was “mind blowing”, commenting that he’s not sure how the hotel can top that.

The four futuristic and luxurious suites feature intelligent controlled lighting, music and video, which enables the user to control their own environment, air spa tranquility baths for two, while the ‘Fantasy suite’ also features a glass bathroom.
