The original Pig-branded hotel, located in the New Forest, has announced the launch of a new eco-friendly lodge.
Named Bert’s Box, the lodge features a bedroom, shower room and a lounge and kitchen area. It also includes a log burner, double-glazed doors, reclaimed timber flooring and eco-friendly features such as its own lighting system, hot water and heating supply.
It was created in conjunction with designers Bert & May Spaces and architects Box 9, and includes interiors from Judy Hudson who designed all four of the Pig-branded hotels.
A statement from the hotel said: “They have worked to incorporate storage and heating systems, whilst doors and windows have been specially selected to allow for maximum light and air flow through the box.
“Every detail has been meticulously thought through to ensure total comfort alongside the features which will insulate the box in the most ecological way.”
The opening of the lodge takes the number of rooms at the hotel, which opened in 2011, up to 30.
