The Lucky Onion, a Cotswold-based collection of hotels and restaurants, has announced it is to expand its portfolio in 2016.
The expansion plans come after the group, which is owned by husband and wife team Sam and Georgie Pearman, announced the acquisition of two new sites.
In Cheltenham the company has acquired a building adjoining The Promenade – originally opened in 2013 – which will see it double in size. The hotel will grow from 11 bedrooms to 22 while a florist, coffee shop and bakery will be added to the front of the building.
The expansion will also include the addition of a large communal sitting area, the doubling in size of its restaurant and an extended outside seating area to make space for an outside bar and fire pits.
Meanwhile, in the Cotswolds, the company has purchased The Wild Duck. The 16th Century inn will close in the new year for a full refurbishment and will reopen in late summer with 12 bedrooms, all individually designed by Georgie Pearman.
