This year has been by almost every measure a bumper one for the UK hotel industry. Virtually every month we have had the pleasure of reporting yet more growth, more investment, and more individual success stories.
The sector is moving fast. The news that the world’s biggest hotel chains are merging and acquiring each other, launching boutique brand extensions and refurbishing their inventory means the independents face big competition. But the consumer appetite for a unique experience, a beautiful locale, and highly personal customer service mean the future is potentially very exciting.
This month in the magazine we’ve picked out some of the firms providing unique innovations in the technology space, aimed at helping independents add to their bottom line, engage better with their guests, and expand their reach. Ambitious hoteliers are embracing technological advancements like never before, and that’s why in 2016 we will be revisiting technology every quarter to keep the market alert to what’s on offer.
