Splendid Hospitality Group acquires Leeds hotel

Splendid Hospitality Group has purchased the New Ellington hotel in Leeds with a guide price of £2.5m.

The hotel, which is located in the city’s financial district, is named after the Duke of Ellington who played at the Leeds music festival back in 1958 and features 34 individually designed bedrooms, two conference rooms and a gin bar.

The new property brings the company’s portfolio of hotels up to 18, which includes the Hotel Indigo York, Conrad London St James, the Grand Hotel and Spa York and the newly opened Hilton London Bankside.

Stuart Bailey, CEO, said: “We are delighted to acquire the New Ellington Hotel which enhances our existing collection, giving us a stronger accommodation proposition in the region.

“This boutique hotel is ideally located for both the business and leisure traveller and we look forward to welcoming guests to the hotel.”
