In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Last year, Hotel Owner and Miele Professional teamed up to offer a lucky hotelier the chance to win a ‘Miele Makeover’ – the installation of £15,000 worth of Miele laundry kit for free.

Candacraig House in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, won the competition after demonstrating a clear need to have an on-premise laundry room in order to reduce costs and maintain the quality of its linen.

Prior to the makeover, the staff at the property had to travel over an hour’s round-trip to get the laundry processed by an external laundry firm.

Candacraig has picked a space which used to be a storage room to keep the new in-house laundry systems, meaning the space the stackable machines take up is “minimal”.

Speaking in the video, Lynne Lino, owner of the property, said: “It’s actually going to revolutionise our business, we just can’t wait to switch the machines on and press go.”
