South African Leeu Collection acquires Linthwaite House hotel

South African-based Leeu Collection has acquired the Linthwaite House hotel in the Lake District for an undisclosed sum.

The 30-bedroom four AA red-star hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere is the fourth property in the group’s portfolio and represents its first hotel outside of South Africa.

Originally built as a country house in 1901, the property has run by Mike and Jean Bevans since they purchased it in 1990, transforming it from an 11-bedroom bed and breakfast into a hotel.
