The Coaching Inn Group is reporting a three-fold increase in revenue at the Kings Head in Richmond, North Yorkshire, following a £1m refurbishment.
The property was acquired in February this year by the Coaching Inn Group in February this year as part of the group’s £20m expansion programme.
It reopened on 24 June following a renovation of its restaurant, bar and accommodation and now includes the brand’s ‘Eatery and Coffee House’ concept. The refurbishment also included structural repairs of the building and the recruitment of 30 additional employees.
Kevin Charity, founder and managing director, said: “The aim of the work was to give this historic coaching inn a new lease of life, whilst maintaining its Georgian architecture.
“We’re delighted with the outcome and have already seen a significant uplift in food and drink sales, with a three-fold increase in revenue since the refurbishment.”
The Coaching Inn Group now has a portfolio of 11 hotels across Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Gloucestershire, Cambridgeshire and Wales and aims to add another four properties to the estate this year.
