Splendid Hospitality has expanded its regional portfolio with the acquisition of its fourth hotel in York.
Located at the gates of the city walls, the 91-bedroom Ibis York Centre hotel features free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a cafe, bar, meeting room and a car park for up to 20 cars.
The hotel will continue trading under Accor’s Ibis brand and Splendid Hospitality has plans to invest £1.5m to upgrade the property’s facilities over the next two years.
It joins the company’s three other properties in the city including the The Grand Hotel & Spa, Hotel Indigo York and Holiday Inn Express York.
Stuart Bailey, CEO, said: “This is a strategic acquisition for Splendid Hospitality and an ideal fit for our expanding regional portfolio with three existing hotels in York. The Ibis York Centre hotel boasts one of the most central locations in York making it equally suitable for both the business and leisure travellers.
“Ibis belongs to the Accor brand portfolio and we are pleased to further enhance our partnership with Accor.”
Splendid Hospitality now has a portfolio of 20 hotels in locations including York, Bristol, London, Oxford, Edinburgh and Leeds.
