Staff at Manchester’s Oxford Road Holiday Inn Express recently welcomed their 100,000th guest.
Mike Powell of Leicestershire was welcomed with a bottle of champagne and a voucher entitling him to 12 months’ worth of weekends free accommodation at the city centre hotel.
Opened in August 2010, the hotel’s staff have cooked more than 142,000 sausages and 283,000 eggs for breakfast and poured over 15,000 litres of orange juice.
Jonathan Smith, general manager at the Holiday Inn Express, Oxford Road, said: “To have had 100,000 guests in such a short period of time is fantastic and an achievement we are all very proud of. On average it means we have seen more than 5,500 people through our doors every month from opening.
“It takes a real team effort to make the hotel run like clockwork. Everyone has worked really hard to make sure that guests receive the best possible care and enjoy their stay.”
