Liverpool’s iconic Parr Street Studios and Hotel up for sale

Parr Street Studios and Hotel in Liverpool, once part-owned by Phil Collins, has been put up for sale.

Built as commercial premises in the 1930s, Parr Street Studios and Hotel is (ironically for those who remember the rpm speeds on turntables!) located at 33-45 Parr Street close to Liverpool Lime Street train station.

As well as its history the hotel offers two Grammy-award-winning recording studios, two bars, 11 offices, a car park, an 18-bedroom hotel, and collectors’ items including the piano used to compose and record the Coldplay song Yellow.

Among the artists who’ve recorded in the building are Barry Manilow, Black Sabbath, Snow Patrol, Spice Girls, Stone Roses, Take That and The Verve.

Despite the on-going grip of the recession, the hotel is being sold as a successful enterprise. In 2006 Gary Millar, Steve Macfarlane and Thomas Lang rescued the building and put into action a five-year plan that would oversee the introduction of new office space, the hotel and second bar.

Offers in excess of £1.9 million will be considered.
