Homewood, Bath has been accepted into the Small Luxury Hotels of the World portfolio for 2021, the site has confirmed. 

Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a collection of more than 520 independently owned, boutique hotels. Each site is personally visited and vetted by the hotel group to “ensure it offers the most individual, intimate and intense hotel experiences”. 

Homewood Bath is located just outside of Bath on a “secluded” 20 acre site. The Georgian country house hotel features 31 rooms, a garden spa with an outdoor pool, and a restaurant that uses locally sourced produce. 

Additional features include an “eccentric” clock collection, sparkling chandeliers and a series of giant garden sculptures.

Earlier this year, the site launched its Olio Terrace restaurant, which features an outdoor kitchen and al-fresco dining. The group later opened Mallingford Mews, a set of 10 new individually designed rooms, many of which feature private terraces and hot tubs. 

Daniel Luddington, vice president of Development, Small Luxury Hotels of the World, said: “We are delighted to add a new contemporary country house to our British collection and they don’t come much more independently minded than Homewood.

“When many people are looking for space and an escape closer to home, I think a stay somewhere that describes itself as combining ‘imagination and mischief’ should be on everyone’s New Year’s list. It’s cool and cosy, and we love it.”

Ian Taylor, owner of Homewood, added: “Since we took ownership of Homewood in 2018, it has been an ambition to be part of the inspiring and prestigious SLH collection. SLH represents the pinnacle of boutique hospitality: properties which are more than somewhere to lay your head, that capture your heart and mind during a stay and provide unique, memorable moments. 

“To be accepted into SLH is a proud day for the entire team at Homewood who strive daily to deliver a luxury experience with a touch of playfulness and an infectious spirit. We look forward to what 2021 has to offer with SLH.”
