Holm House on the market after financial difficulties

The owners of a luxurious boutique hotel in South Wales, which was famous for its celebrity clientele, have put the 1920s hotel up for sale having struggled with finances.

The 12-bedroom hotel, which is situated in Penarth near Cardiff, stopped accepting guests at the end of May and is now on the market with both Christie & Co and David Baker & Co for offers exceeding £2.1 million.

A recorded message on the answering machine says: “I am sorry to have to inform you that due to adverse trading conditions, and on the advice of our professional advisors, HH Hotels Management Ltd – trading as Holm House – has taken the decision to cease trading forthwith. We are obviously very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
