A hotel owner in Bournemouth has resorted to offering guests £10 for every day that it rains on their holiday in a bid to encourage more holiday makers
Following a fall in bookings due to the wet weather, Sarah Uzzell, owner of the Arlington Hotel, plans to run the deal throughout August.
The hotel will pay its customer £10 for every day the Met Office records more than 0.25mm of rain at Bournemouth Airport.
Sarah said: “The economy is an issue but the weather has not encouraged people to make a decision about booking a hotel. If it’s your precious time with your family, it’s disappointing – it’s just not beach weather.”
