May Fair official hotel partner of the BFI London Film Festival

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

London’s May Fair Hotel has confirmed itself as the official hotel partner of the 56th BFI London Film Festival for the fourth consecutive year.

The luxury hotel will celebrate the start of the two-week festival with a gala film event, showing Paul Andrew William’s drama Song For Marion, alongside a series of May Fair ‘movie moments’. Highlights of the festival will also be viewable from the hotel windows, which will be transformed into mini cinema screens.

In keeping with the cinema theme, the hotel will serve posh pic ‘n’ mix such as rum and cola bottles, pink vodka dummies, absinthe liquorice laces, bourbon fudge and candied tequila lime. The hotel houses London’s largest private theatre/cinema, which accommodates 201 guests.

Director of marketing for the May Fair Hotel Linda Plant said: “Extending our relationship and activities with the BFI reinforces our position as the film hotel in London. With our hi-tech, hi-spec facilities, we are seen by the industry as a natural partner for new works, film launches, press junkets, screenings and general entertainment.”

Artistic director of the BFI Festivals Clare Stewart added: “The May Fair Hotel is a great supporter of the film and entertainment industry and once again we will have a choice of excellent spaces for parties, first class suites for our VIPs and access to one of London’s largest and best-equipped private cinemas.”
