For the fourth consecutive year the Devonshire Arms at Beeley has been crowned ‘Gastro Pub of the Year’ in the Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards.
Set on the Duke of Devonshire’s Chatsworth estate, the 4-star inn is located at the heart of the community in the village of Beeley, which was first mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086.
Chef Patron of the characterful inn, Alan Hill is renowned for the dishes on his menus, which only employ local produce. Most of the local produce used is supplied by estate farmers and allotment growers via an innovative barter board system.
Originally three separate cottages, the Devonshire Arms was converted into an inn in 1747 and was once frequented by notable names, such as Charles Dickens.
