London and Manchester showed record-breaking revenue per available room (RevPAR) levels for the month of April.
According to the latest STR figures, compared to the first four months of 2016 London had an increase of 11.1% to £105.80, while Manchester grew by 3% to £57.88. Dublin also enjoyed growth of 6.2% to €92.41 while Edinburgh went up by 14.4% to £59.94.
Some 12 key European markets also showed record-breaking growth in the year-to-date.
The European hotel industry recorded an overall increase in the three key performance metrics; occupancy was up 3.3% to 65.6%, average daily rate (ADR) was increased to €102.82 (£82.62) which was a 2.5% growth and RevPAR increased by 5.9% to €67.47 (£58.15).
