A new superyacht-inspired hotel has opened at the Ocean Village Marina in Southampton, with the design of the building imitating a luxury boat.

The hotel was opened by Harbour Hotels and is an 85-room, five-star property.

The development of the hotel cost £25m and was designed to reflect Southampton’s marine culture as well as offer a gateway to Solent.

The hotel features a rooftop destination bar with views of the marina and a restaurant on the ground floor, which serves local and seasonal seafood.

It also has a cinema which seats 21 people and an outdoor terrace with fire pits and a wood fired oven. The Southampton Harbour Hotel has an event space on the first floor with a capacity for 200 guests.

The hotel will also feature a further six apartments.

Mike Warren, managing director of Harbour Hotels, said: “We are thrilled to unveil our spectacular new Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa development at Ocean Village, introducing five-star luxury to the marina.

“Attracting tourism and providing a number of fantastic dining experiences, an indulgent spa and Southampton’s first destination rooftop bar for locals to enjoy, we are very excited to officially open our doors.”
