Yotel has announced plans for a new city hotel in Edinburgh by Q1 2019.
The group’s ongoing global expansion has been boosted by Starwood Capital Group’s $250m (£186m) investment earlier this year.
The building will be located at Erskine House, Queen Street, in close proximity to the city’s top attractions and the nearby Unesco World Heritage Site.
Yotel says the new property will target business and leisure customers, and will boast a a wide range of facilities, including a two-storey screening room, a fully equipped 24/7 gym, and a destination hotel bar fronting onto Queen Street.
As standard, guests have access to Yotel’s ‘Technowall’ room feature, with adjustable mood lighting and smart TVs that connect seamlessly to the guests’ own devices. All cabins and communal areas of the hotel have free Wi-Fi.
The project is still in development, and will be designed by Edinburgh-based Fletcher Joseph Architects and interior designer, Aedas. Construction will be handled by ISG.
Hubert Viriot, Yotel CEO, said: “Edinburgh is both a popular tourist and business hub and our new hotel will be a great addition to the city, appealing to both markets.”
