Kim Yardley has announced his plans to step down as manager of Gisborough Hall, nine months after it became a fully independent hotel.
Yardley joined in 2001 and assisted with the growth and development of the company for 16 years.
He will remain with the business as a consultant, but decided to cut back on his work commitments to develop his hobbies and spend more time with his family.
Gisborough Hall has appointed Ruairidh Taylor as his successor. Taylor joined the business in 2002 as a waiter in Chanoler’s restaurant, eventually going on to become the restaurant manager.
Following a brief period lecturing at Middlesbrough College, Taylor returned in 2015 as hotel operations manager.
Speaking about his promotion, Taylor said: “Kim has had a huge influence on my career and we are all really sad to see him leave. I am so proud to have been given the opportunity to take on the role of hotel manager at a really exciting time in Gisborough Hall’s development.”
Yardley added: “Ruairidh is one of our incredible success stories. He has developed into a passionate hotelier who, without question, puts the needs of our guests at the forefront of his decision making. I am sure that he will motivate and lead the hotel team with absolute dedication.”
