Helen Barker set to complete 53 marathon runs for Greenfingers Charity

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Helen Barker, an employee at Kew Green Hotels, will complete her 53rd marathon run on 20 January 2018, helping to raise almost £1,500 for the Greenfingers Charity.
Barker works as a travel trade executive for the hotel firm and challenged herself to complete 53 runs in one year for her 2017 charity FUndraising year.

The final part of the series will take place at the Holiday Inn, Manchester, where Barker will be running a double marathon totalling 53 miles.

Staff at Kew Green Hotels have been raising funds for the charity during 2017 and presented a cheque for £100,000 that will help complete more gardens in 2018.

The charity group supports hospital bound children by creating stress relieving gardens for them to relax in.

Barker said: “I will be running a steady pace for the 18 hours. I am hoping to meet many supporters who can contribute to my Greenfingers FUNdraising efforts during the day and once I finish, I am looking forward to celebrating at a Gala dinner that is being held at the newly refreshed hotel.”
