Buckinghamshire’s Horwood House Hotel and Spa has announced the appointment of Mehdi Amiri as executive chef at the establishment.

In the role, Amiri will lead the hotel’s culinary operations, including room-service, afternoon tea, conference and banqueting.

Amiri will also be responsible for two dining concepts, including Harry’s Bar and Kitchen, which is due to open alongside the hotel on 17 May 2021.

Offering a seasonal British menu, the restaurant will showcase locally sourced and homegrown ingredients.

Amiri provides the role with 20 years of culinary experience, including spending time in the Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsey and Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.

He has also worked at Dormy House Hotel and Spa, Wynyard Hall, and the 3AA Rosettes Swinton Park Hotel and Spa.

Amiri said that it is an “incredibly exciting time” to join Horwood House, which has recently undergone £20m worth of redevelopments.

He added: “Significant investment in the entire property and the focus on developing the F&B offering means I can play  a part in the repositioning of the hotel, establishing the dining concepts as destination restaurants.”
