De Vere Wokefield Estate has unveiled the results of its £20m refurbishment which includes a complete restoration of its historic Mansion House.
The hotel, part of the De Vere portfolio of country estate hotels, near Reading, offers 87 guestrooms, with many featuring roll-top baths and king-size beds, and a further 289 bedrooms can be found in Wokefield Place and Wellington Lodge.
Originally built in the 1560s and then rebuilt in 1720s; the hotel also features a new 90-seater ‘1560 Restaurant and Bar’ in the Mansion House serving a British-inspired menu.
A new whiskey lounge has also been opened and The View, located in Wokefield Place, has been fully redesigned with an outdoor pizza oven introduced on the terrace serving artisan stone-baked pizzas.
The hotel is also currently renovating its spa due to open in the coming weeks. The spa will provide a relaxing sanctuary offering six treatment areas, including a four-person space with private Jacuzzi, plus four couple and two single treatment rooms.
