The historic hotel Leasowe Castle has been awarded a four-star rating by the Automobile Association (AA) hotel ratings.

The hotel, located at Wirral Peninsula, received its latest accreditation due to high standards on hospitality, service, cleanliness, spaciousness, comfort and food, among others, according to the AA report.

The hotel has been recognized after having experienced record turnover and refurbishment of its in-house Star Chamber and Wreckers Bar.

Leasowe Castle also received the AA merit score of 75% after feedback provided to the hotel, saying it offers “a very enjoyable guest experience, one that found a well-managed and focused team who were keen to please and willing to engage”.

Mike Dewey, general manager at Leasowe Castle, said: “We are delighted to have attained a four-star rating from the AA, further positioning us as one of Wirral’s most luxurious and historic destinations.

“During my time here at Leasowe Castle, I have seen the venue go from strength to strength and we have introduced new provisions such as the appointment of award-winning head chef Andrew Wright to oversee all culinary operations which has vastly improved our food and drink services. It was great to see that this was reflected in the inspector’s brief, which noted that dining was very enjoyable, with worthy aspirations towards achieving an AA Rosette Award.”

He added: “Whilst we are celebrating the news of our four-star rating, we are continuously looking to improve our offerings and will be working towards improving our score even further in the coming year. Feedback from guests has been excellent thus far and this is a great indicator of our success.”
