Royal Crescent Hotel relaunches restaurant and adds outdoor terrace

Royal Crescent Hotel and Spa in Bath has relaunched its Montagu’s Mews restaurant and bar space, in addition to launching a brand new heated dining terrace, following a total restaurant refurbishment.

Designed by Shelley Reiner, director of London based interior design company Suited, Montagu’s Mews reflects a typical 18th Century salon with a modern twist.

This has been inspired by the first resident of No.16 Royal Crescent, Elizabeth Montagu and her salons.
Montagu was the host of the Blue Stockings Society. She was also a writer, salonière and advocate for women’s education.

The restaurant will serve dishes from head chef Martin Blake and his team by incorporating quality produce from local farmers and suppliers into his menus.

The menu includes lamb from Whaddon Grove farm, Wye valley asparagus with almond pesto and chicken jus roti and 30-day aged Herefordshire beef tartar.

Alongside an a la carte, the restaurant also offers a tasting menu, breakfast, casual bar food and an afternoon tea.
The new bar offers guests a host of local botanicals as well as small batch spirits and wines and beers.
On warmer days, guests have the option to eat outside on the newly renovated outdoor terrace, under cantilever parasols and seasonal heaters.
