The Signet Collection unveils refurb of The Barnsdale in Rutland

It also includes a courtyard garden with Whispering Angel bar and boule pit, croquet lawn and kitchen garden, alongside an events barn with 150 people capacity

The Signet Collection, a British hospitality brand, has completed the refurbishment of The Barnsdale in Rutland, which closed shortly after the Christmas holidays to undergo the renovation.

The Barnsdale is the hospitality brand’s third hotel and features 46-bedrooms, the 1760 brasserie- named after the year the original lodge was built, a collection of two and three-bed self-catering accommodations called Rutland Retreats, numerous private dining rooms and a conservatory.

It also includes a courtyard garden with Whispering Angel bar and boule pit, croquet lawn and kitchen garden, alongside an events barn with 150 people capacity.

The rooms and suites are designed by London based duo, Taylor and Turner. The interiors of the hotel are inspired by the history and location of the building, with the hotel building previously being a hunting lodge.

Later this year, Barnsdale will introduce a new multi-use events barn with mezzanine balcony and open fires.

It also plans to launch a Signet Spa, the hotel’s very own Health Club which will include an indoor pool, mud rasul, salt flotation room, steam and sauna, gym, three treatment rooms and beauty salon alongside a farm shop and e-bike hire.

Hector Ross, founder of The Signet Collection, said: “Rutland is one of England’s hidden gems and we feel very lucky to now have a boutique hotel in this small but mighty county. Perfectly poised above Rutland Water and equipped with a fantastic Rutland born and bred team, The Barnsdale has been beautifully reimagined and revitalised over the past six months and I can’t wait for all to see.”
