The Old Palace in Chester, an exclusive-use wedding and events venue set in one of the earliest Georgian buildings, has been brought to market for offers in excess of £4.7m.
The property, which has a south facing location overlooking the River Dee 100 metres from the Chester city centre, was built in 1751 for Samuel Peploe, the Bishop of Chester.
Following a multi-million-pound restoration and refurbishment project which was completed in 2020, this Grade II-listed property has been reimagined as an award-winning, exclusive-use wedding venue.
The works undertaken are to the highest possible standard, from the intricate plasterwork to the elegant furnishings, creating “a seamless blend of old-world charm and contemporary style, whilst preserving the essence of the original building and its rich heritage”.
The property features 23 ensuite bedrooms, including a honeymoon suite, and a variety of wedding and event spaces including The Ballroom, The Garden Terrace and River Kitchen.
