The Watermead Guest House in Chard, Somerset has been sold to Gary Birch and Jamie Tillotson.

Watermead Guest House has been owned and run by David and Trudy Cole since 1997 and was placed up for sale once they decided it was time to retire.

The property has been sold for an undisclosed amount but the guide price was set at £799,950.

The hotel offers nine letting bedrooms, with eight ensuite rooms and one with private facilities.

It also includes a residents lounge, breakfast room, conservatory, fully equipped kitchen and self-contained owner’s accommodation with three double bedrooms.

Birch and Tillotson, said: “We are excited to continue the long tradition of great customer service at Watermead House with exciting plans for redevelopment to further enhance its existing reputation – 2024 will be an exciting year for us.”

Stephen Champion, director at Christie and Co who handled the sale, added: “Watermead proved to be an excellent family home and business to David and Trudy, and we have no doubt it will continue to do the same for new owners Gary and Jamie. We wish them every success with their new business venture.”
