Luxury Windermere B&B Lindeth Fell Country House, which was purchased by The Storrs Collection in April, has recently appointed a new team to manage the hotel.
Designed by renowned landscape architect Thomas Mawson, Lindeth Fell stands in seven acres of private gardens overlooking the lake on Lyth Valley Road in Windermere.
The hotel was built in 1907 and retains much of its arts and crafts character, offering 14 bedrooms as well as terraces for outside dining.
The Storrs Collection is now planning a complete refurbishment of Lindeth Fell by next Winter, along with extensive restoration work to the gardens.
The new team is composed of former Linthwaite house chef Ashley Wood who will not be at the helm in kitchens and has already developed a brand-new menu.
Regarding the appointment, Wood said: “I’m happy to have joined the Lindeth Fell team and I’m looking forward to working with Harry and Cath to create a home away from home for our guests. What we want to offer is a friendly welcome and proper hospitality, where our guests are remembered and greeted by name, with simple food that is executed to a high standard using great produce in a beautiful place.”
In addition, duty manager Harry Doddrell, formerly of L’Enclume, will help to take care of the hotel’s guests alongside duty manager Cath Tarney, who has been at Lindeth Fell for over 26 years. Doddrell started his career by achieving a place on Red Carnation Hotels graduate scheme and has since worked in a number of Michelin-starred hotels, including Sketch Lecture Room, The Ritz, The Frog and HIDE.
Doddrell said: “I always knew I wanted to go into hospitality, and this is what I’ve been working towards over the course of my career. To play such a key part in running this amazing country house hotel is a dream come true and I’m really excited to see our plans come together.
“We want our guests to come here and really make the place their own. We want them to feel truly taken care of. I can’t wait to make that happen.”
