Making an impression in guests rooms

Making an impression in guests rooms

In this episode we speak to Anthony Hunt, partner and co-head of Corporate Real Estate at law firm Howard Kennedy. We discuss why 2026 may be seen as a pivotal year for boutique hotels, unpack the rise of global nomadism and how this is shaping demand and trends across hospitality, and how a strong team and clear, consistent messaging and offerings are key to securing investment.

Making sure guests’ rooms are clean and fresh has a big impact. Research conducted by Diversey with a leading international hotel school showed almost 70% of guests consider cleanliness and hygiene the most important factor when making recommendations.

The same research revealed that for 29% of guests, bedroom cleanliness was the most important factor when forming opinions.

Housekeepers need products that are simple, effective and economical to complete their daily tasks quickly with excellent results. Diversey meets these requirements with Pro Formula, its all-new range of professional-formulation cleaners in familiar and trusted brands such as Persil, Comfort, Cif and Domestos.

The range includes Persil Hygiene, a professional laundry detergent that is ideal for items
such as bed linen and towels because it provides exceptional cleaning results even at low temperatures with the added reassurance of disinfection to protect guests. It disinfects at 40C, eliminates 99.999% of bacteria such as E. coli and MRSA and is effective against most viruses.

Guests are also impressed by the cleanliness of linens elsewhere in the hotel such as tablecloths and chefs’ whites. Persil Advance is an excellent main wash detergent that removes a wide range of stains and types of soil. It contains enzymes which are very effective on soils high in protein, including blood and food stains. Its anti-greying action and optical brightener keeps whites white.
